• What in The World Is Tiktok?

Most of us have either heard of or joined the TikTok community. Whether you like it or not, this social media site has the world in a chokehold.

The use of videos to present content has always been around through different sites, such as one of the most popular sites. YouTube. However, we have not yet been given a place like TikTok.

I was late to the TikTok trend, but I have been hooked ever since. For those who don’t know, TikTok is a relatively new social media platform made for creating/sharing content in the form of short(ish) videos with countless effects.

TikTok is the world’s leader in short-form mobile video.

To begin with users can either upload a previous video or record a new one through the app by using the plus button on the bottom of the home screen. If you choose to record a video, you would then have the option to select from three different time frames options 3 mins, 60 sec, or 15 sec. However, if you wish to upload a previous video it may be up to 10 mins long, which is still a new feature update. After the media portion is figured out, you may choose from several different video effects , and also audio/music to add to your video. Once you are finished editing your video you may either save your video as a draft or publicly/privately upload your video, meaning you or you and your followers will be able to view. Users can then interact with your video by liking, commenting, resharing, or dueting your video (if option is enabled).  At the top of your home screen you will have the option to view content from only people you follow or recommended content “for you”. TikTok has also added a friends only page in addition to these two timelines.

Newly, TikTok has also added a stories feature, video segments that last up to 15 seconds. Like other platforms’ story features, they stay visible 24 hours after posting and will be featured as an in-feed post with a story tag in the top left corner.

The use of TikTok has skyrocketed not only for entertainment purposes but also for business use. As one of the most popular social media sites with over 1 billion monthly users, businesses must use TikTok in their social media marketing strategy.

Here is a short video of creators expressing what TikTok means to them from TikTok’s youtube channel.

TikTok allows you to insert fully customizable message designs that let you chose the the layout , which allows the process to be quick and the content to be more relevant to users

    3) Immediate engagement

Data exports are made a click away that allows the data to be “immediate actionable and prospects to be engaged 9x faster than a landing page on TikTok.”

The TikTok website also states that running lead ads on TikTok also plays a considerable role.
